No Decision Yet to Restore Assemblies: Musharraf

Pakistani Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf said on Wednesday he had not yet given consideration to the restoration of assemblies.

He stated this while responding to a question of a journalist after recording his remarks on the launching ceremony of News and Current Affairs Channel of Radio Pakistan, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).

"No decision has yet been taken on this issue," he said, "the consideration of the matter or any decision on it may take some time."

Operation of the assemblies has been suspended since the armed forces headed by General Pervez Musharraf dismissed the cabinet headed by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and took over state power in October 1998. However in these days there are reports about restoration of the assemblies. Musharraf's statement is a response to such reports.
