Tianjin Hosts Eighth Spring Commodity Fair

Tianjin Hosts Eighth Spring Commodity Fair
The Eighth Tianjin Spring Commodity Fair, one of the country's two large domestic commodity fairs held every year, started Wednesday in this northern port city.

Some 5,000 enterprises from across China are taking part in this five-day event, jointly sponsored by the Tianjin Municipal Government and China General Chamber of Commerce.

The trade fair covers about 80,000 square meters and has 3,000 exhibit booths, which are double the number at the fair last year.

Sources said that commodities exhibited at the fair belong to 200 categories and some 30,000 varieties, including internationally famous brands like Motorola and Hitachi.

The fair involves furniture, clothes, e-commerce, green foods and automobiles and will feature forums on e-commerce technologies and financial instruments.

The total deals made during the past seven Tianjin Spring Commodity Fairs were about 50 billion yuan (604.6 million US dollars).
