5th China Fair for Investment and Trade Scheduled for September

The Fifth China Fair for International Investment and Trade (CFIIT) will be held in Xiamen, a coastal city in east China's Fujian Province on September 8-12.

This was announced at a joint press conference Wednesday by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) and the CFIIT Organizing Committee.

Zhang Xunhai, vice director of the Department of Foreign Investment under MOFTEC, said the fifth CFIIT will highlight attraction of China-bound investments as well as investments by Chinese enterprises in the overseas markets.

A series of seminars on investment policies will be held during the fair, he said.

The fifth CFIIT will also include a high-level international investment forum on the opportunities and challenges facing China' s entry to the World Trade Organization, Zhang said.

CFIIT is the sole national economic and trade activity devoted to overseas direct investment attraction. In the past four fairs, contracts of 9,141 investment and cooperation projects were signed, with a total contractual value of 48.308 billion U.S. dollars.
