Construction of a software park started in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province Wednesday.
The software park, covering 565,000 square meters, will be the home for a information and technological service center, a base for software enterprises, a center for software products authentication and a center for China's computer software, sources said.
The Shenyang Software Park) plans to introduce 40 enterprises by the early part of 2003. By that time, the park's software sales volume is expected to reach 4.5 billion yuan (542 million U.S. dollars) and export volume 100 million U.S. dollars.
The software park, located in the Shenyang High-tech Industry Development Zone, will cost 1.58 billion yuan (190 million U.S. dollars) to complete, sources said.
