China Business Summit Inaugurates

The "World Economic Forum & 2001 China Business Summit" was inaugurated on Tuesday afternoon in Beijing. Mayor Liu Qi extended his congratulations in his address to the opening ceremony and his welcome to representatives from home and abroad.

Launched in 1981 for the first time, the China Business Summit, an annual event on enterprise management, is sponsored jointly by China Enterprises Commission and World Economic Forum.

The 20th summit of this year with the theme of "The Chinese Economy in the New Century: Transformation and Innovation of Global View" has drawn the attendance of about 600 Chinese and foreign representatives and is scheduled to be concluded on April 19.
