China, Yugoslavia to Push Ahead CooperationChina is ready to make joint efforts with Yugoslavia in line with the spirit of the joint communique signed between the two countries and take effective measures to push ahead development of bilateral cooperation in the new century.Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan made the remarks at a meeting with visiting Yugoslavian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus here Wednesday. Tang said the Chinese government attaches great importance to developing friendly cooperative relations with Yugoslavia in all sectors, and holds that the long-term, stable and sound development of Sino-Yugoslavian relations are in line with the fundamental interests of the two peoples. The Chinese side will continue to respect Yugoslavia's sovereignty, territorial integrity and the choices made by the Yugoslavian people in their development, he said. Tang expressed concerns over the tensions in Kosovo and its neighboring areas, calling on all parties concerned to carry out the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and seek a political resolution to the Kosovo issue and related issues through dialog and negotiation. Labus thanked China for its principle stand on the Kosovo issue, and spoke highly of China's role in international affairs as well as its great achievements in reform and opening up. He reiterated that Yugoslavia will stick to the "one China" principle and support China's reunification. The all-round cooperation between Yugoslavia and China has broad prospects, he said, adding that his country is willing to enhance such cooperation with China. Labus, also minister of foreign economic relations, is here as guest of State Councilor Wu Yi.
