Yesky and Chinabyte Announce Merger
April 17 saw ChinaByte and Yesky announce their merger of the Internet business to create a leading portal of IT contents and services in the China market.
The merging was made known jointly by the chairmen of the two partners. As declared the merger has been carried out very quickly from a decision-making several months ago to establish a strategic alliance between the two companies. And they have discovered a highly complementary interest in their operations that would help them to provide a broader content and service offering while lowering operating cost to make both sides buttered.
ChinaByte is a joint venture of the News Corporation and the People's Daily while Yesky, the largest Chinese IT portal providing IT information, comprehensive community service and value-added IT services, is a joint venture between Chinese PC Weekly and IDG.
