Parents of Missing Pilot Highly PraisedThe parents of Wang Wei, a pilot who is considered missing following a collision between a US reconnaissance plane and a Chinese fighter jet on April 1, have been praised as brave and heroic as their son by local people and government officials of Huzhou City, Wang's hometown in east China 's Zhejiang Province.Wang Ming, 64, and Wang Yueqin, 58, the father and mother of the missing pilot, said that "Wang Wei is our son, he is also the son of the motherland. As a soldier, he had just done what he should." Wang Wei, who is presumed dead, has been awarded the title of "Guardian of Territorial Airspace and Waters" by the Central Military Commission for his heroic deed in the struggle to safeguard the nation's sovereignty and dignity. The Huzhou City Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) and the city government has also awarded Wang the title of "Good Son of Huzhou people". "We are also very proud of the parents of hero Wang Wei," said Sha Tieyong, an official in the Huzhou City Committee of the CPC.
