China to Export More Machinery, Electronic ProductsChina will export more machinery and electronic products, especially high-tech ones, in the years to come.This was stated by Li Huifen, Chairman of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME), in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province, Tuesday. Li is here attending the 89th Guangzhou Export Commodity Fair which began Sunday. Import and export of machinery and electronic products will be valued at 360 billion U.S. dollars by the year of 2005, accounting for 50 percent of the country's foreign trade volume. By that time, export of machinery and electronic products will stand at 180 billion U.S. dollars, with high-tech commodities making up more than 50 percent, Li said. Import and export of machinery and electronic products was 208. 2 billion U.S. dollars last year, accounting for 43.9 percent of China's total foreign trade volume. Export of machinery and electronic products, dominated by IT products, electronics, home appliances, complete equipment for power generation and engineering, was worth 105.3 billion U.S. dollars in 2000, up 36.9 percent from 1999, and accounting for 42. 3 percent of the country's total export.
