China, US to Negotiate on Plane Collision IncidentChina and the US Wednesday will hold negotiations on the incident of the crash of a Chinese military plane rammed by a US military surveillance plane and other related issues.Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue made the announcement Tuesday in response to questions at the regular press conference. Zhang said that the negotiations will take place in Beijing, and Lu Shumin, head of the Department of Affairs of Americas and Oceania of the Foreign Ministry, will lead the Chinese team, which includes officials from the Foreign Ministry and officers from the Defense Ministry. She said that negotiations will include such topics as the cause of the collision, the stop of US reconnaissance activities near the Chinese coastal areas, and the prevention of recurrence of such incidents, and other related issues. Zhang urged the US to take a constructive attitude in the negotiations so as to help properly settle the issues.
