International Diploma Symposium Scheduled in Chongqing

The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) is to hold its annual Asian-Pacific symposium in Chongqing, the largest metropolis in southwest China, from April 28 to May 1.

More than 250 scholars from 32 universities in Asia and the Pacific region will focus on the curriculum, pedagogy and teachers ' training, and provide consultancy for universities interested in joining in the IBO.

The IBO, headquartered in Geneva, is a non-governmental academic organ recognized by the UNESCO. It was set up to cope with growing number of students in families which move from one country to another.

An official with the Chongqing Municipal Educational Commission, said the IBO attaches great importance to diversified teaching patterns and training of multi-discipline students. The symposium helps school leaders to change their concept and method of teaching.
