Survey: Kodak Films Favored by Chinese Consumers

US-based Kodak films have taken 63.1 percent of China's film market share, and won the "best brand for consumers" award.

A survey by China Central Television (CCTV) shows that Kodak has ranked first in film sales for the past three years.

The survey covered 15,000 families at various consumer levels in 35 cities, relating to 42 kinds of consumable products, including films. It found that most consumers are influenced by film brands.

Besides Kodak, Fuji films and Lucky films accounted for 26 percent and 8 percent of the Chinese film market respectively.

Experts point out that Kodak's success in China was due to its localized and integrated production system, as well as the "Kodak Speedy Color" chain store plan implemented in China.

To date, Kodak has invested 1.3 billion US dollars in setting up factories in Xiamen, Shanghai, Wuxi, Shantou and Xinhui. Over 6,000 Kodak chain stores in China's 700 cities has increased Kodak's fame.
