Macao Residents Stream to China Inland for Visit

A total of 620,000 people passed through Gongbei customs between Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) and Zhuhai City in southern China between April 13 and 15, customs statistics show.

Most of them were Macao residents who spent the Easter Day holiday in the inland. A large number of Macao residents were emigrants from the interior parts of China, especially from Fujian and Guangdong provinces.

Preliminary statistics show that more than 160,000 persons came into and out of Gongbei Sunday alone.

The customs sent more police personnel to keep order and opened more provisional passages to facilitate the flow of crowds.
