Israel Warplanes Launches Strikes in Central Lebanon
Israel
i warplanes on Monday launched airstrikes on targets in
Lebanon
's central mountains, reports reaching here said.
An AP report quoted witnesses and police as saying that the attacks took place in an area where
Syria
n troops maintain radar bases.
There was no immediate word on the targets, casualties or damage.
The attacks came as a special U.N. envoy said Sunday that a Hezbollah rocket attack that killed an Israeli soldier in a disputed border zone violated the U.N.-drawn boundary between Lebanon and Israel, the report said.
