China's Top Agriculture Forum to Be Held in Xi'an

China's top non-governmental agriculture forum will be held from May 12 to 14 in the Yangling Agricultural Hi-tech Zone of this capital of the western China province of Shaanxi.

The forum's organizing committee will consist of prestigious agricultural experts from governmental departments and research institutes, including the National People's Congress Agricultural and Rural Affairs Committee, the Development Research Center of the State Council and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, sources said.

The forum will focus on the use of new and hi-techs in agriculture and the development of agriculture in the country's western regions.

At the forum, officials from the State Economic and Trade Commission, the Development Research Center of the State Council and the State Agricultural Industrialization Office will give subject lectures.
