More Rickety School Buildings to Be RebuiltChina's Finance Governor Xiang Huaicheng told a press conference April 12 that the Chinese government is going to allocate greater funds to rebuild more rickety school buildings in central and western China.According to Xiang, an annual increase of one percent has been targeted in education outlay and this is to add up to 48-49 bn yuan from 1998 to 2002. With this, excessive miscellaneous fees illegally collected in the rural areas will be totally ceased along with a streamlining of administrative units at a county and township level so as to ease economic burdens on farmers.
