Listening and Oral Tests of Foreign Languages Needed for Postgraduate Entrance Examinations

The Ministry of Education has lately announced that except graduates of English mayor, graduates of other mayors will have to take the listening and oral tests of foreign languages in the postgraduate entrance examinations from this year.

According to Yangtse Evening Post, the tests will be taken in two phases. The 30-minute long listening test, to be organized by the local provincial enrollment offices, will be taken in the three-hour long preliminary examination, with the mark to account for 20 percent in the total scores of next year's preliminary examination and gradually be raised to 30 percent. The listening examination paper of these foreign languages including English, Russian, and Japan will be set by the Ministry of Education and other languages by the enrollment units.

The oral tests will be carried out in the reexamination, with the questions to be set and tested by the enrollment units. The mark of the oral test will be counted into the reexamination, as an optional qualification for the recruitment universities.
