US's Apology Demonstrates Justice Is Invincible: Nouvelles D'europeThe fact that the US government changed from arrogance to admitting errors demonstrates that justice is invincible, according to Paris-based Nouvelles D'europe. In a commentary on mid-air plane collision, the paper said that responsibility for the incident rests on the US side from the very beginning. It is the US spy plane that bumped into a Chinese military plane and caused it to crash. It is also the spy plane that intruded into China's airspace and landed in a Chinese airport without permission, it said. But the US shows arrogance and obstinacy in conjunction with this incident, it said. It went on to say that some US congress members went so far as to use blocking China's accession into the WTO and its bid for the 2008 Olympic Games as chips to escalate the situation, in an attempt to compel Chinese government to yield. The commentary also said that the US hegemonic act not only aroused strong indignation of the Chinese government and people, but also was widely denounced by governments of other countries including its faithful allies and the people all over the world. Overseas Chinese and foreigners of Chinese origin residing around the world protested against illegal activities of the US surveillance plane. The US government was thrown into an isolated and embarrassing situation. Amid extensive condemnation and protests from around the world, the US government had no option but to give in and apologize to the Chinese people, said the newspaper. The newspaper also praised the Chinese government for not yielding to hegemony and its method to handle the incident in a cool-headed and restraint manner. "The whole world has observed that justice and truth have sided with China in the incident, and a just move is always invincible," it noted.
