China's Open Shipping Market First Rate

By the end of last year, China has opened 140 ports to foreign shipping vessels, with a yearly number of 70,000 in and out of China, statistics told from Water Transport Department of the Ministry of Communications.

China's admission to its ports has been at a level well compared to world developed. International shipping transport can fully enjoy the same treatment as China's.

So far, nearly 100 foreign shipping dealers from more than 30 countries have opened international container shipping routes in China. Of 2,800 coastal shipping-liners and 669 ocean shipping-liners in China, foreign shipping companies make up 47 percent and 70 percent of share, respectively.

By the end of last year, China has signed with 56 countries bilateral marine transportation agreements and approved 560 branches and representative offices set up by foreign companies. Projects invested by foreign investors have come up to 194.

China will continue to expand the opening up and further enhance the opening-up level with the perfection of shipping market and soundness of legal system.
