Taiwan's 'China Airlines' Plans to Purchase 25% of Shares of China Cargo

According to the officials of Taiwan "China (Zhonghua) Airlines", it intends to purchase 25 percent of the shares of China Cargo based in Shanghai. It is the first time for the company to invest in the mainland.

The official indicated that the rising external trading of the mainland provides a broader prospective for air-transportation. He believes the purchasing this time will help promote the business record of the "China Airlines".

As sources say, "China Airlines" is negotiating with China Eastern Airlines, the largest shareholder of China Cargo, on related items. Li Zhongming, president of China Eastern Airlines also confirmed the message. Li added that Cathy Pacific Airlines and CITIC Pacific also expressed their interests in becoming shareholders of China Cargo. China Eastern Airlines is waiting for the response from "China Airlines".
