Preparation Made to Embrace 'Golden Week' During Labor Day

Sources from the work meeting on national tourism administration held in Nanjing April 12 said that the railway transportation is expecting a passenger peak during the week-long golden International Labor Day.

Travelling by train mainly focuses on trunk lines linking two big cities or between cities and scenic spots. Though the passenger flow will reach a comparatively high peak, probably not more than that of last year. Estimated to be still in great number the passenger flow this May Day will exceed 3.53 million person/times as seen in last National Day, and maybe four million person/times each day in peak time.

To cater to the increasing needs for holiday travels, the Ministry of Railway is to add 20 round-trip temporary trains and 56 extra for travel. The additional endeavor made is believed sufficient for the large fluxes of tourists in this May.

In addition, more efforts will be exerted to improve the service quality and strengthen transportation security.
