Beijing's Aim: Make 21st Universiade a Big Success

2001 Summer Universiad
e here a success, Mayor Liu Qi told George E.Killian, President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) here on Thursday.
Liu made the remarks in a meeting with the FISU president.
Killian, who is on an three-day inspection tour in Beijing, said the Chinese capital has made "first class" preparation for the Universiade and "the city is very capable to host the games".
"We have no fear that everything will be ready by August 1." he added.
