Visiting Chinese Military Leader Back Home
Zhang Wannian, vice-chairman of China's Central Military Commission, and his party arrived Thursday after concluding their official goodwill visit to Australia and New Zealand.
General Zhang made the tour at the invitation of the defense ministries of both nations.
During his tour, the general met with Australian Prime Minister John Winston Howard and New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Elizabeth Clark, and exchanged with them views on military exchange, state- to-state relations and other issues of common concern.
