Macao to Erect 3rd Macao-Taipa Bridge

In addition to the current two bridges linking Macao and Taipa Island, the SAR government plans to build the third cross-sea bridge.

Now the preparatory work is under way in an orderly way. The new bridge will extend not more than 1.2 kilometers and cost between 200-300 million Pataca, or Macao dollars. The modern double-decker bridge will open to traffic 24 hours a day, while the lower deck opens only in case of typhoon.

Public bidding for the project will start this year.
