FISU Chief Killian Inspects in Beijing

George E.Killian, president of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), arrived in Beijing on Wednesday to start a three-day inspection tour.

Killian praised the preparations by the organizing committee here and said he believed the 21th world Universiade in Beijing would be "the biggest one we would have".

Vice-mayor Liu Jingmin, executive vice president of Beijing Organizing Committee held a brief welcoming meeting at the airport.

FISU Secretary General Roch Compana and other FISU officials had arrived in Beijing early on Tuesday. The FISU delegation will review the athlete's villages and other competing venues including the Workers Stadium for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games from April 12 to 14.

The FISU officials is scheduled to attend a drawing ceremony for the preliminary groups competition of the team sports at the Games.

The 21st Summer University Games will be held in Beijing from August 22 to September 1.
