Thai Chinese Condemn US Hegemonism, Support Chinese Stand

Representatives from various Thai Chinese organizations on Wednesday severely condemned US hegemonism over a recent aircraft collision incident, and voiced firm support for the Chinese government's stance on the matter.

At a forum, Boonsong Srifuengfung, chairman of Thailand's Chinese Chamber of Commerce described the US behavior throughout the incident as a "sheer hegemonic act."

"Showing no respect for the international laws and the Chinese sovereignty, the EP-3E US surveillance plane conducted spying activities above China's exclusive marine economic zone, pumping into a Chinese jetfighter and causing its destruction," he said, adding "We Thai Chinese feel furious towards the US acts in the incident, and firmly support the Chinese government's solemn and just stand."

Amorn Apithanakoon, president of Thailand's World Chinese Unity Center, harshly criticized the US behavior as "barbarous".

"We will continue to launch protests through various ways against the US government until it accepts all the conditions set by the Chinese government and people on the matter," he claimed.

Amorn was echoed by his deputy, Sujin Eurboonyanun, who said the US always commits hegemonic acts around the world, implementing tyrannies under the name of human rights. "This incident is another good example of the US hegemonism," he said.

Sujin urged all the peace-loving nations worldwide to unite to jointly resist this kind of hegemonism and provocations.
