Chen Jinhua, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met Wednesday with Thai Deputy Prime Minister Pongpol Adireksarn.

Chen spoke highly of the Sino-Thai relationship, saying the exchanges between the two countries have kept increasing and bilateral cooperation has become closer in recent years.

"The friendship has taken roots in the hearts of the two peoples," he told Adireksarn who is attending an international tourism festival in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan province, at the invitation of the Yunnan provincial government.

Adireksarn said the new administration of Thailand will continue to develop its friendly relations with China.
