Three Finalists Topping Beijing CBD Blueprints
The first three winners topping Beijing CBD construction project bidding activity went respectively to JOHNSONFAINPARTNERS (US), City Environment Institution (Japan) and SOM (US) after three-month appraisal according to an announcement made April 10 in Beijing.
Being a world metropolis, Beijing started planning CBD construction since December 15 last year, with a planned investment for first phase construction up to 10 million yuan, and launched the bidding activity from then on.
At a meeting with experts from China and abroad, Mayor Liu Qi of Beijing lately told the reporter that an expert study will be made of the finalists to start Beijing's CBD construction.
Beijing Speeds up CBD Construction
Authoritative sources revealed February 22 that Beijing is ready to speed up construction of its Central Business District (CBD) and position it as a key function zone to be formally listed during the 10th Five-year Plan period.
As reported, enterprises in the three forms of ventures, i.e. Sino-foreign joint ventures, cooperative businesses and solely foreign-owned enterprises have been up to over 12 thousand in Beijing. In addition, chambers of commerce, banks and enterprises from some hundred countries and regions have set up more than 1100 agencies and offices here, 148 of which have had their names listed among Global Top 500 Enterprises.
