Chinese People Indignant at US Hegemonic Act

People across China have expressed strong indignation at the US hegemonic act to hit a Chinese military plane and wantonly intrude into China's airspace.

They also voiced firm support to the Chinese government's just stand with their specific actions.

"The US spy plane bumped into Chinese plane to cause it to crash and landed at China's territory without permission. These acts have seriously violated international laws. The US must bear full responsibility for this incident and all the consequences arising thereafter," said Chang Baosheng, professor on the international law with Hainan University.

Wang Yi, a graduate of Law Institute of the university, said, " through the collision incident, we have clearly seen the hegemonic nature of the Unites States."

"Only by linking our own future to the nation's destiny and enhancing our sense of responsibility and urgency, and mastering skills, will university students be able to contribute to making our motherland prosperous as soon as possible," he said.

Lu Pin, director of the General Office of Harbin Huaxing Co., noted that the US government has not made an official apology to the Chinese government and people to date. The 1.3 billion Chinese people will never tolerate this."

"Our government has made clear its solemn stand on the mid- air collision incident. I am sure that our government will resolve this issue properly," said Chen Shaoyi, teacher of the Party School of CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee.

Jin Ziqiang, associate professor with Yunan University, said, " The US surveillance plane intruded into China's airspace and territory and caused our fighter to crash. These activities seriously violated the international laws. But the US government has refused to make an apology. We are indignant at its hegemonic act. We strongly demand that the US government apologize to the Chinese people and compensate for the losses caused."

"Students in Yunnan firmly believe that our government will resolve this issue properly on behalf of the Chinese People," said Wang Zhong, director of the Schools Department of the Yunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and secretary -general of the Students Federation of Yunnan Province.

At a forum held yesterday in Nanjing University in Nanjing, teachers and students indignantly denounced the US for its hegemonic act. Lu Minghua, professor of the university said, " The US must bear full responsibility for this incident and make a reasonable explanation and an official apology to the Chinese people."

Zhang Yingying, a student of the English Department of the university, said, "University students should remain cool-headed and resolutely support the just stand of the Chinese government. We should learn much more knowledge of science and culture and devote ourselves to the economic construction and national defense causes, so as to improve China's comprehensive national strength and enhance its international influence.
