Chinese Company Hands Over Oil Storage Tanks to Sri Lanka

China's Huanqiu Chemical Engineering Corporation on Tuesday handed over six additional storage tanks to Sri Lanka.

At a ceremony marking the completion of the oil storage tanks the official Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Chairman Anil Obeysekere said that they are satisfied with the quality of the tanks.

The six tanks, each with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters, were completed in a year at Sapugaskanda, suburb of the capital Colombo.

The Chinese company completed another 15 oil storage tanks in Sri Lanka in February last year. One of them was set ablaze by separatist Tamil Tiger rebels in 1995. The projects have greatly enhanced the storage capacity of the war-torn country.
