Missing Pilot's Wife Well Cared for


Wang Wei's Wife in Hospital
People from all walks of life across China have shown great concern for and extended greetings to Ruan Guoqin, wife of Wang Wei, the missing Chinese pilot.

On April 6, on learning that Ruan was going to Beijing for a health check-up, Air Hainan offered her a ticket for free and arranged her seat in the first-class cabin in the attendance of a stewardess.

The faculty of the Beijing October 1 School offered to provide compulsory education from primary school to high school for Wang Ding, the son of Ruan and Wang Wei.

Mai Xiande, a well-known naval hero, as well as his wife, Li Yuzhi, called Ruan, expressing their resolute support to her in writing US President Bush and full agreement with the content of the letter.

The General Naval Hospital reserved the best ward for Ruan with special attendance, sent her the best specialists and had delicious food prepared for her.

Ten service women of a Chinese Liberation Army unit stationed in Beijing visited Ruan and bought her flowers and fruit with their own allowances.

Wang WeiĄ¯s comrades-in-arms keep Ruan informed on the search results every day and answer her questions related to self-rescue and the search in the sea.

Officials in Huzhou city, the hometown of Wang Wei, in east China's Zhejiang Province, have visited RuanĄ¯s parents many times, sent a nurse to look after them and solved problems in their life.

Teachers from the Huzhou's Tongxinyuan Kindergarten has been taking great care of Ruan's son and helped Ruan overcome difficulty.

In letters to Ruan, former colleagues of hers expressed their respect for and best regards to her.

The Huzhou City Government has called on all wives of soldiers in the city to follow the example of Ruan in supporting their husbands in defending the motherland.
