Chinese Cambodians Denounce US Arrogance in Spy Plane Incident

Chinese Cambodians in Phnom Penh Tuesday unanimously denounced the US hegemony, and demanded the US government apologize for the spy plane incident on April 1.

In an interview with Xinhua, Oukgnar Duong Chhiv, president of the Association of Overseas Chinese in Cambodia, said that the collision of a US spy plane with a Chinese jet fighter and landing on the Chinese territory without permission had seriously violated the territorial sovereignty of China and international laws.

"What makes people angry is the fact that the US government didn't make an apology to the Chinese government for the incident and didn't take responsibility for that," he said.

"What responses the US government would take if a plane from another country went into the US airspace for surveillance and destroy a US plane, and whether the US government would accept it ?" the president asked.

Cai Dihua, vice president of the association, expressed his indignation at the US arrogance in the incident, saying that " it is a serious violation of international laws and China's sovereignty. The US government should have taken full responsibilities and made an apology to China."

Zhen Mianfa, secretary-general of the association, said that China has become stronger than before so the times for the US government to make a show of its strength have passed away for ever. He advised the US government to take the incident seriously.

They all expressed that they welcome the US government to adopt positive and practical approach to the resolution of the incident.
