Vietnam Confirms Helicopter Carrying US MIA Search Team Crash

Vietnam has confirmed a Vietnamese helicopter carrying US MIA search team crashed in the country's central province of Quang Binh, about 400 km south of Hanoi, Saturday afternoon.

According to a report of Vietnam's official news agency VNA on Sunday, the helicopter, which was carrying 16 Americans and two Vietnamese, en route from Hanoi to central city Da Nang, suddenly took fire at 15:30 (local time) Saturday afternoon and dropped to a hill at Thanh Trach commune, Bo Trach county, Quang Binh province.

VNA said that there are no survivors in the crash.

The authorities in Quang Binh province have mobilized army troops, public security troops and medical workers to overcome the aftermath of the incident.
