Nanning to Host Trade, Investment Fair
A trade and investment fair is scheduled for May 15-21 in Nanning, capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in south China.
The seven-day fair will feature automobiles, electromechanical products, telecommunications, new and high-tech materials, textiles, handicrafts, farm produce and local special products.
Wei Naihuang, deputy director of the organizing committee, said that a number of energy, agricultural development, infrastructure and environmental projects will be offered for domestic and overseas investment at the fair.
The projects include an expressway linking Wuzhou City to the region's renowned tourist destination Guilin, and a domestic garbage disposal plant in Qinzhou City, Wei said.
Total investment for these projects is estimated at five billion yuan (610 million U.S. dollars).
On the sidelines of the fair, a smaller trade fair for special- offer products will be launched, which will be the first of its kind in China.
The trade and investment fair is co-sponsored by the Guangxi branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International trade, Xinhai Trading Co., Ltd. (Hong Kong) and Xingmao International Co., Ltd. (Taiwan).
