Anhui Province in east China reported a total import and export of 3.33 billion US dollars last year, an increase of 25.7 percent from the previous year.
Of the total, exports grew 29 percent year on year to 2.16 billion US dollars, and imports rose 20 percent to 1.17 billion US dollars.
Anhui's exports in the form of general trade jumped by 33.3 percent to reach 1.69 billion US dollars last year. The growth rate of the province's exports to other parts of Asia, North America and Oceania was more than 30 percent.
State-owned enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises in the province continued to be the main force behind the rapid growth, accounting for 97 percent of Anhui's foreign trade last year.
