Chinese President's Visit to Cuba to Enhance Bilateral Ties

Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque said Friday in Havana that the forthcoming visit to Cuba by Chinese President Jiang Zemin will further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.

The visit is of great significance and is a vivid symbol for the strong ties between Cuba and China, Roque said at a press conference.

The excellent relations between the two countries are based upon wide political coincidences and a growing economic cooperation, Roque added.

As for the visit's agenda, the foreign minister said the bilateral relations issues will be covered, especially those in the fields of economy and trade.
