Senior CPC Official Meets Venezuelan Visitors
China is ready to make concerted efforts with Venezuela in the new century to further bilateral friendship and cooperation in political, economic, trade, science and technology, cultural and other fields, a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official said Friday.
At a meeting with a delegation of the Movement to Socialism of Venezuela (MSV) headed by its President Felipe Mujica, Wei Jianxing, Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau and member of Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, said China and Venezuela, both developing countries, are actively exploring the development paths suited to their own conditions.
The two countries have much in common in international affairs such as safeguarding the rights and interests of developing countries and promoting regional stability and world peace, Wei added.
On party-to-party relations, Wei said that such relations are an important component in state-to-state relations. The strengthening of friendly contacts between the CPC and the MSV and exchanges of experience in party-building and politics between them will play a positive role between the two peoples.
Felipe Mujica said members of the delegation have seen the great changes that have taken place in China during its reform and opening-up drive.
Though far away from each other, both Venezuela and China are facing the common task of developing their economies and improving the people's living standards, he said.
Friendly exchanges between the two countries and the MSV and the CPC have been continuously expanding in the past few years, and his party pays much attention to its friendship with the CPC and will make positive efforts for the promotion of relations between the two countries and the two parties in the new century.
Wei also briefed the visitors on China's domestic situation.
