World Hainan Website Launched in Hainan

A web site (www. Hainannese.com) focusing on the development of Hainan and living conditions of Hainan people residing aboard, has been launched in the island province of Hainan.

Established by Foreign Affair and overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Hainan Province and other departments, the web site aims to provide various types of information for Hainan people and Hainan people residing aboard.

The information covers a whole range of areas such as Hainan's development, human culture and history, and local conditions and customs.

The web site also brief Internet users on the contributions made by Hainan people residing overseas to China and their hometown during different periods, as well as their current developments.

It also plays a role in helping overseas Chinese-funded enterprises to do business in Hainan and boosting economic development by giving introductions to laws and regulations on affairs related to overseas Chinese.

There are three million overseas Chinese and foreigners of Chinese origin around the world whose hometown is Hainan Province. The Hainan Province is China's third largest hometown of overseas Chinese, after Guangdong and Fujian provinces.
