People of Missing Chinese Pilot's Hometown Concerned about HimGovernment officials and people in Huzhou, the hometown of the missing Chinese pilot, Wang Wei, visited his family yesterday, and expressed sympathy to his parents.People were strongly indignant at the fact that the US spy plane wantonly intruded into China's airspace and bumped into a Chinese military plane to cause to it to crash. They also expressed deep concern over Wang Wei, the brave pilot, in hopes of his safe return. Wang Wei, born in April of 1968, was enrolled by an flying school with excellent marks after graduating from Huzhou No.2 Middle School. His parents are both retired workers from the Huzhou Machine Tools Plant. He also has a sister, Wang Lin. Leading officials of the Huzhou City Committee of CPC, Huzhou City Government and Military Subarea Command visited Wang's family yesterday afternoon and extended sympathy to his parent. "Members of the CPC Central Committee and General Secretary Jiang are deeply concerned about Wang Wei. We admire him for his brave act to protect the country." "Wang Wei is your good son, and also the pride of the people of his hometown," said Si Xinliang, secretary of the Huzhou CPC City Committee. "As his fellow countrymen, we are most anxious to find Wang Wei as soon as possible," he said. He reassured Wang's parents to wait for further information. He pledged to assist Wang's parents should need arise. Wang's neighbors also came to visit his parents on their own.
