Changzhou to Build Environmental Protection Industrial Park

The State Environmental Protection Administration has approved construction of the Changzhou National Environmental Protection Industrial Park in Changzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province.

The park will be built on the basis of existing infrastructure of the Changzhou National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone.

The park, which will cover an area of ten square kilometers, will serve as the first all-directional, multi-functional and high-standard industrial park in the country.

It will focus on undertaking preventive environmental protection projects such as clean production, ecological protection, water and energy conservation, renewable energy and resource recycling.

It will also develop new technology and materials to effectively solve water pollution, air pollution and solid waste pollution and provide high-tech means for environmental monitoring and management.

The park will consist of five parts, namely, an environmental protection industrial sub-park, an environmental protection ecological sub-park, an environmental protection scientific research sub-park, an environmental protection products exhibition center and an environmental protection consulting center.
