President Jiang Zemin left Beijing Wednesday for a state visit to Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Cuba and Venezuela, as well as a working visit to Brazil.

Premier Zhu Rongji, Vice-President Hu Jintao and other senior officials saw President Jiang off in the Great Hall of the People.
