Although great changes have taken place in the city, many foreigners, including some members of the International Olympic Committee, are still not familiar with the latest developments here, said the mayor. Richard Li Tzar-kai said that he has required his Pacific Century CyberWorks (PCCW) to add information concerning supporting Beijing's Olympic bid. Li's fledgling Internet company last year bought Hong Kong's oldest and largest telecommunications company, Cable & Wireless HKT, from its British corporate parent. Li's father is the billionaire Li Ka-shing, who runs numerous businesses in Hong Kong and elsewhere. |
