Police in Zhejiang Crack down on Organized Crimes

Police Departments at all levels in Zhejiang Province, east China, have smashed 882 criminal gangs, arresting 4,567 suspects.

After two months¡¯efforts, the Public Security Bureau in Cixi City, Zhejiang Province, destroyed a big criminal gang of 44 members. The gang committed all sorts of crimes including drug trafficking, robbery, forcing women to serve as prostitutes and possessing firearms illegally. During the investigation, the police cracked over 40 cases, confiscating three pistols, 22 bullets and more than 40 grams of drugs.

The Police Substation in Kecheng, Quzhou City, smashed two gangs of 24 members, confiscating four pistols.

The Police Department of Wenzhou City has set up a total of more than 90 special task teams, which have cracked down on 81 gangs, arresting 570 criminal suspects.
