Agreement on Official's Study Visit Program Signed by China, SingaporeChina's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Singapore Counterpart signed the Framework Agreement on the Senior Chinese Official's (SCO's) Study Visit Program Monday.Vice-Minister Wang Yi of China and Permanent Secretary Tan Chin Tiong of Singapore signed the agreement which is part of a broader framework of bilateral exchanges. Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Alternate Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Zeng Qinghong witnessed the signing. The senior Chinese Officials' Study Visit Program, established in 1996, had a successful five-year run and the new framework agreement will extend the current program for another five years. Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the program enables Singapore to share its developmental experience with senior Chinese officials in areas such as public administration, human resources management, urban planning and financial management. It also said that the new agreement is a signal of the commitment of both Singapore and China to strengthen the multifaceted cooperation that already exists between the two countries.
