First Asian Children Picture Show 2001 Opens in Tianjin
April 1 saw the "First Asian Children Picture Show 2001" sponsored by the Cathay Future Children Culture and Art Foundation Tianjin opened in Tianjin, China.
This picture show has received full support from governments of Asian countries, their embassies in China and children in Asian countries. It displays 100 pieces of art-work sorted out from nearly 1000 pictures coming from 27 Asian countries and regions including Kazakstan, Mongolia, Japan, India, and China, showing children's hopes and aspirations to life, future, and peace as well as the various regional characteristics of these regions. กกกก
At the opening ceremony, dozens of Tianjin children drew a 10-meter long picture on the spot, showing the full support by two million children in Tianjin to Beijing's bid for hosting the 2008 Olympic Games.
