New Multi-Purpose Vehicle Rolls off Line in Tianjin

A new miniature multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) named "Huali Angel of Happiness" rolled off the production line in Tianjin Friday.

The new vehicle came only three months after the launch of Xiali 2000, also by the Tianjin Automotive Industrial (Group) Co. (TAIC) last December.

According to its producer, the Huali Automotive Company, a subsidiary of the TAIC, the new vehicle is a combination of world' s most popular MPV design and state-of-the art Japanese technology, and that its design has taken into consideration the road situation in China.

The vehicle is jointly designed by the Huali company and Taiwan design companies.

The new vehicle is spacious and equipped with children locks, an air conditioning system and adjustable seats.

It also employed a variety of safety designs and technologies to ensure passenger safety in case of emergencies, and has passed collision tests organized by the relevant national authority.

The MPV uses a 53 horsepower electrojet motor, which allows a maximum speed of 130 kilometers per hour and a gas consumption of 4.5 liters per 100 kilometers at a cruising speed of 50 kilometers per hour. Its emission is in line with the European II standard.

The MPV is expected to be put into mass production in August and will sell at a price of 60,000 to 70,000 yuan, depending on different models.
