Mobile Stock Service Unleashed in Shanghai

March 28 saw Shanghai Mobile Communications Co., Ltd open a new-generation mobile stock service, which enables mobile phone users to conduct stock trading via easy, convenient menu operation without voice prompt.

Supported by large-capacity STK cards, this is the first exchange service offered by Monternet. It is a cooperation between Shanghai Mobile Communications Co., Ltd and Beijing Airoam Wireless Technology. It will be first opened in the 13 shops of Shanghai Pudong United Trust and Investment and then on mid April in the 42 shops under GF, Everbright, Guotai and Huaxia securities. It will also be extended to other security companies in Shanghai.

The new service means to conduct stock business on mobile phones via short messages provided by GSM. Compared with traditional telephone trust, it is fast in checking stock information, easy in menu operation, and safe without regional limits. Users can be guided by words to set private account, conduct stock business, account transfer, exchange information checking, reset private data, history checking and business checking, etc. Users outside Shanghai or even China can also buy and sell securities by way of sending short messages via domestic or international roaming.
