Bodies of Serial Blasts Victims Cremated

The bodies of the 108 people who died recently in the serial blasts in north China's Shijiazhuang city were cremated Thursday afternoon, official sources said.

Four separate blasts rocked the capital of Hebei Province on the early morning of March 16, killing 108 people and injuring 36 others.

The suspect, Jin Ruchao, has been arrested by police.

Preliminary investigations by the police show that Jin masterminded the explosions, seeking revenge against his neighbors and relatives, with whom he had sour relations.

Blast Victims Get Compensation

Relatives of 37 victims of the recent Shijiazhuang explosions which killed 108 people received a total of 250,000 yuan (US$30,120) insurance compensation last weekend from China Life Insurance Co.

According to China Life officials, three work units in Shijiazhuang that had employees injured in the explosions had bought insurance at China Life. Among them was the No 3 Cotton Mill.
