China Appreciates Arab Summit Meeting's Positive Efforts

China appreciates the positive efforts made at the just-concluded Arab summit meeting to safeguard and strengthen unity and cooperation among Arab states, push forward a peaceful resolution to the Middle East and Gulf issues, and accelerate economic integration.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Sun Yuxi made the remark when asked to comment on the meeting Thursday afternoon at a routine press conference.

Noting that this is an important meeting convened under new situations by Arab states. Sun pointed out that China has always supported the just cause of Arab states and all their efforts for realizing regional peace and development.

He also voiced the sincere hope of China to further promote friendship and cooperation in various fields with Arab states.
