March 26 saw the TCL Group have a news release held at the China Centenary Altar for the promotion of its Home Information Display (HiD) products.

When introducing its HiD products, Ms Wu Shihong, deputy general manager of TCL said that they are the wide-screen monitors of high compatibility. It is a new-generation product designed to take the place of traditional color TVs.

HiD is a combination of TV and monitor, compatible with various existing multi-media equipment and future digital TV receivers, says Ren Jian, general manager of TCL multi-media R&D center.

TCL will, as reported, put in 60m yuan to popularize HiD knowledge, predicting that this year HiD will take 15 percent of domestic market share for wide-screen color TVs, and next year, 100m yuan will be put into HiD's development, production and sales.
